ABOUT MITCHEL BALMAYNE:

I was born and raised in the automotive capital of the world, Southern California where my parents who were avid race fans and muscle car owners introduced me to sports cars at a very young age.  As a 7 year old, I can vividly remember unlocking the 4-speed transmission on their '68 Camaro.

By the time I was 17, I was overseeing the detail shop at my Father’s car wash and learning from my neighbor Thane who is a famous hot rod painter who gave me the low down on custom painting techniques.  I decided to try my hand at custom painting on my own car, a ’73 Chevy El Camino and my friends were just blown away.

Next, I worked for a few small auto restoration shops before landing a job at the Shelby Collection where I spent three years creating some awesome Mustang Shelby’s for show and racing purposes.

After that experience, I moved on to work for a private collector for two years before starting a 14 year career stint at Willhoit Auto restoration where I continued to create that show winning magic. During that time I judged some of the most prestigious Porsche concourse events and my work won numerous “Best of Show” and “Judges Choice” awards.
